The main opposition to the Crimson Sea came from KitsuneSenko, who said that it destroyed the vanilla experience. With these recent events in mind, it is said that the Creators of [[The Crimson Sea]] have plans to compromise with KitsuneSenko, and build a giant platform over the lava instead, providing both a risk of death, and a safe way to retrieve one’s items.

An Enhanced Version of the Screenshot of the nether water that was released by Marshall in the announcements channel.

The flooding is an event that took place in the Nether around October 17th. A group of Unknown Players Flooded the nether with water sources, a feat that would normally have been impossible. It is suspected they used kelp to make the vast ocean of water sources. The Origins of the first water source are still a mystery, but it is suspected that Marshall placed the first source block. The coordinates of the origin of The Crimson Sea are approximately -65, 104. That location does not currently contain any water, however, since the server administration reduced the size of The Crimson Sea soon after it was created.

This occurrence may have several benefits for the server: Depth strider will be in greater demand, boosting the server economy. Players will be less likely to die from lava, since there is water everywhere. And nether based farms are now viable.

An anonymous source has informed me that the native strider population will be relocated to a dedicated reserve.

Oct. 18th:

Upon logging into the server the next day, players found The Crimson Sea drastically reduced in size. Marshall has stated that the area of the sea will stay, but that it shouldn’t expand further, as it was a bit excessive. So, the mods reduced the size of the sea further, keeping a small portion of it, centered on a small group of islands constructed by Potato and a few others.

The main opposition to the Crimson Sea came from KitsuneSenko, who said that it destroyed the vanilla experience. With these recent events in mind, it is said that the Creators of The Crimson Sea have plans to compromise with KitsuneSenko, and build a giant platform over the lava instead, providing both a risk of death, and a safe way to retrieve one’s items.

The fate of The Crimson Sea was decided in a private meeting between the Owners. Marshall posted about it in the Announcements channel on the PVC Discord, saying, “Someone flooded the Nether. (This is now history)” Given the Owners attachment to historic events on the server, The Crimson Sea Will most likely be a permanent landmark.

Soon after the meeting, KingNeme joined the server to see with his own eyes the newly created sea. He immediately took action, setting up a plugin to prevent any further flow of Water Source blocks in the Nether area. This behavior was implemented to prevent another flooding.

Now that the situation has been resolved, and the future of The Crimson Sea is secured, the Creators have made themselves known. The Helpers Board can be found at (46, 67, -30) in the Nether. The members include:

Addendum:

The description of the methods used to create all these water sources is—for the most part — factual. There is some information left out, which will be detailed here.

Originally, there was one water source block. It was discovered that the water could still flow without updating, so MantacidTech and VoidOnyx did some tests. They created a 2x2 water source with kelp, did some more experiments, then created another 2x2 source below the first to see how the water would react to boots with the Depth Strider enchantment. It was found that the frosted ice would not revert back into water if it melted, and that waterlogged blocks would not retain this state if they were moved with a piston.

After the experiments were concluded, an aqueduct from the 2nd 2x2 source was made, allowing water to flow down to cover the lava lake. VoidOnyx was using kelp to create more water sources, until MantacidTech noticed that double tall sea grass was accomplishing the same effect, and in a more controlled manner. they, along with the small army that joined them, proceeded to cover the entirety of the lava lake under the nether hub in a 2-block-deep ocean using this new sea grass technique. The mod 4djectives was present during some of this process, but remained silent and indifferent at the time.
