Peaceful Vanilla Club Wiki

The economy of PVC tends to change over time. Information presented here may become outdated. If you find something out of date, please edit the wiki or leave the editors a comment.

Overview of the Economy[]

PVC relies almost entirely upon player-to-player interactions for the function and growth of its economy. In this sense, the economy is very much player-driven. Players can buy or sell almost any item in the game through private sale or through the many shops spread throughout the world.

Although no currency has been officially designated, players generally opt to conduct trade deals using emeralds (a.k.a. 'ems') or emerald blocks (a.k.a. 'embs'), or through other currencies such as diamonds ('dias' and 'diabs'), iron and gold. Rarer, high-end currency also includes netherite ingots and ancient debris.

The central bank in Spawn village also uses a virtual currency called Virtuacoins. This currency is used to rent shop plots or stalls, among other things. Virtuacoins are earned as interest on emerald, iron, gold and diamond that has been deposited into the bank. See below for more info.

The central bank also offers condensed emerald based currency (see superemeralds).

Player Shops[]

Players can rent shop stalls in the Spawn village and in Cobbletown, and entire shop plots in Cobbletown or they can make their own stores anywhere in the world. To create a shop, players must first possess a villager spawn egg (which can be purchased from admin shops). For more information, refer to Player Shops.

Admin Shops[]

Admin shops are staff-created shops that address the inability (or difficulty) to acquire certain items through regular gameplay. They are, by design, the only way to acquire items. PVC's Admin shops are located in the spawn village and in Cobbletown (as well as other areas within the world such as the nether hub). These special shops are often the only place that players can acquire certain vanilla items such as Wither Skeleton Heads, as well as special items such as For special items like Claim Blocks, Villager Spawn Eggs (Shopkeepers) or special gear (tools, armor and weapons with unique enchantments) and some also sell pretty standard starter gear.

Special items can sometimes require special currencies as well, such as Nepero (which must be bought from the bank), Vote Diamonds (which are earned through Voting), and Event Coins (which are earned by participating in official server events). These are generally late-game and highly sought after items. The currencies are often used by a specific vendor only. There are actually many special currencies that only one vendor asks for. See the list below

Admin shops are special stores in that they have infinite stock, enabling them to sell an infinite amount of resources. They also have infinite currency in order to purchase items from players.

Custom Heads[]

Players may use the '/heads' command to purchase custom heads for decoration. The heads generally cost a small amount of emeralds.

Ways to earn Emeralds[]

If we consider Emeralds as the main currency, these are the four main methods to earn money on PVC:

  1. Trading
  2. Mining
  3. Farming
  4. Voting

Trading[]

Trading is probably one of the fastest ways to earn money on PVC since there are plenty of different shops willing to buy every kind of stuff. Have a walk at the spawn stalls, or at Cobbletown (read the Spawn guide).

Mining[]

Mining on PVC is actually a reliable, consistent and easy way to earn lots of emeralds. Ore spawn rates have been altered so that you will find a lot more emeralds when branch mining. Caving is not suggested. Roughly, Emeralds will appear as frequently as Iron does in vanilla Minecraft.

Farming[]

Farming is probably the least recommended method of the four in this list. Huge farms can cause lag, and if built without following server's Rules they can lead to unwanted punishments on your account. Smaller farms are welcome and, as in vanilla Minecraft, are one of the fastest ways to earn Emeralds in the game.

Voting[]

Another way to earn emeralds here on PVC is to Vote for the server. Bedrock players are unfortunately limited to 21 emeralds gained this way per day, due to the way some sites are set up- Check out the voting page for more details.

Special Currencies[]

PVC has many special currencies which are used to purchase items from specific vendors. Many, if not all, of these currency may not be traded or shared with other players. It it your responsibility to know the rules regarding which of these currencies may be traded between players. If you are unsure, ask a staff member via the ticket system.

  • Playtime Certificate - Earned by playing on the server for eight hours (afk time is not included)
  • Vote Diamond - Earned by voting for PVC
  • Writer's Quill - Earned by wiki editors for adding value to the PVC Wiki
  • Youtuber's Apples - Earned by producing YouTube videos while playing on PVC
  • Event Coins - Earned by winning prizes at official server events
  • Amazon Ingot - Earn it by shopping on Amazon using PVC's Affiliate Link.
  • Nepero - Used to purchase "the Big Claim"; available at the Bank
  • GCU Coins - Earned by participating in Games & Competition Union's official server events
  • BOINC Coins - Earned by using BOINC to help locate the pack.png seed (more info needed)
  • Red Eye Union Coins (defunct currency from a guild no longer in existence)

Virtuacoins[]

PVC also has a virtual currency called Virtuacoins (referred to as 'vc') that is generally used (but not limited) to rent claims. You can earn Virtuacoins by depositing ores into the server's bank (found in the Spawn guide).

  1. You may deposit ores into the bank. Doing so increases your Virtuacoins balance in your account
  2. The bank acts as a vault for your ores, and generates interest based on your account balance once for every active hour of playtime.
  3. You can withdraw your deposited ores, which results in the bank giving your ores in full, but balance of Virtuacoins will be deducted by the value of the ores withdrawn. The bank however limits the amount of ores that can be withdrawn in a given time period.

Example 1#: Let's say you have zero Emeralds in your bank but you have 100 Virtuacoins in your balance: you can't withdraw any ore since there is nothing to withdraw, even if you have 100 Virtuacoins.

Example 2#: Let's say you have 100 Emeralds in your bank but you have 0 Virtuacoins in your balance: you can't withdraw any ore since you don't have any Virtuacoins to pay back to the bank. Those 100 Emeralds will stay in the bank until you earn 100 Virtuacoins from getting paid by someone.

Value of Deposited Ores[]

  • 1 Diamond = 20 Virtuacoins
  • 1 Gold = 1.5 Virtuacoins
  • 1 Emerald = 1 Virtuacoins
  • 1 Iron = 0.75 Virtuacoins

Blocks are worth x9 of their counterpart.

  • /pay <Player> - to give virtuacoins to a player
