This guide will outline how to effectively mine for netherite to get the most out of your mining trips.

Picking a good location[]

You can mine at any y level but to avoid damaging buildings it is recommended to mine at lower y levels. You'll probably want to head far away from the spawn nether hubs (to around 1000 blocks out) due to high volumes of the nether being pre-mined closer to the centre of the map.

Note - Contrary to the regular vanilla experience, basalt deltas on PVC do not generate Ancient Debris.

Preparation[]

Ensure that you bring enough stuff to keep going without having to travel back and forth to your base. This will include having food, armour and plenty of pickaxes!

Another Note - You may wish to bring some XP bottles to mend any pickaxes. However, it is possible to go without any, and use the XP generated from Nether Gold Ore.

Every mining run I went on I took 15 iron pickaxes and 1 diamond. I only used the diamond pic to break the debris. Returned with at least 6 debris every time. - PhoenixJoe69

Time[]

Remember that Debris Mining is not an easy task! It will take many hours to find some. Debris spawn rates have been reduced due to the ore plugin, meaning it takes a longer time between finding two pieces of debris. You should leave a good length of time to go mining!

Haste Events[]

Typically haste events will involve increasing the rate of ores, sometimes including Ancient Debris. Therefore, it is recommended that you mine during a haste event instead of other times.

Good luck on your Netherite Mining Adventure!
