Overview

The PVC map is very big. This page acts as a guide to help you find a specific place to build on the map. The major divisions of the map are generally determined by the order in which they opened to players.

The Inner Map Section

Geography

The Inner section, as it appears on the dynmap.

This area of the map contains unique biomes! From savannah areas, to snow covered flats, high stretching jungles to lower swamps, with the majority of the Southern part of this section being ocean.

How popular is the area?

This area is very popular! There are hundreds of claims and bases to be found, making this one of the busiest areas on the server!

Places of interest

=> Spawn (The main communal area of PVC - Contains Markets, Admin shops, and the only server bank) [Admin Run]

=> Cobbletown (Another popular area - Contains the Totem Shop, as well as player building plots, and market stalls) [Admin Run]

=> EE (Popular shop selling many items)

=> Red Eye Union HQ (Former union HQ - A popular stop on the /tour as it was the first union to be created on PVC.)

=> Missing anything important? Be sure to update this list if you think so!

Should I settle here?

If you are a player who will extend their base to a large area, this section of the map would not be recommended for settling in. You may experience problems with claims when extending your base, so it may be easier to find a less-populated area of the map. However, if you think you will have a smaller base compared to other players, this area is recommended for you. With little distance to the busy spawn and cobbletown, this area will give you easy access to all the popular areas!

The Centre Section

Geography

The centre section of the map, as shown from the Dynmap

Most of this area is filled with oak and birch forests with some snowier biomes, including a savannah biome to the South, of course with the large ocean surrounding most of these too.

How popular is the area?

This area is not very popular! The claims in this area are much more spread out compared to the Inner Map Section

Places of interest

=> The Court of Fools (Union) HQ (Former Union Base including Foolsport shopping area)

=> Anti Radio Union HQ (Another Running Union Base)

=> Aegis Union HQ (Running Union Base)

=> Sunset Bay (Large town, nearby the HQ for the Games & Competitions Union)

=> Etna (Volcano recreation of Mount Etna)

=> Missing anything important? Be sure to update this list if you think so!

Should I settle here?

This area is recommended for all players. The flat biomes create easy building opportunities, with easy resources. This area has easy transport to major areas through the nether, and has unique builds for players to be amazed at!

The Outer Section

General Trend

These parts of the map are most popular for newer players - The /rtp features takes players out to these areas, making them great starting points. With this, however, also brings a lot of claimed plots of land. All these areas also have the farlands, which could potentially bring in lots of new players!

North East

Geography

The North-Eastern Outer area, as seen from the Dynmap

This area contains mainly Taiga, Mountain and snowy biomes, with some oak and birch biomes, with a small badlands biome at the very North Eastern corner.

How popular is the area?

This area is semi popular. The /rtp command takes players to these parts of the map, perhaps making players settle here, bringing the majority of claims to the server.

Places of interest

=> Historians of PVC HQ (Active Union Base)

=> The badlands at the North Eastern corner of this area

=> Again, If I'm missing anything, please edit this section to include it

Should I settle here?

This area is recommended for most players. This area is quite far from most places, making nether travel most reliable. The area does however contain unique, unexplored areas (including the farlands) making this a great area to build great bases.

North West

Geography

North-Western Outer section, as viewed from the Dynmap

This area contains mainly ocean and lakes, but with some Northern deserts and savannah biomes, a wide-spanning oak and birch forest, with a small jungle to the West, and the beginning of the larger badlands biome of the map.

How popular is the area?

This area is very popular. Not only does the /rtp command bring players to this area, but it is also home to the Moonland Mall, bringing in hundreds of players to the area. Therefore, the on-land areas are heavily claimed, with the ocean parts less-inhabited.

Places of interest

=> Moonland Mall (Famous shopping complex known for having a large area of land filled with shops)

=> Northern Union (NEU) HQ (Former union base and HQ, also known as Angrenost)

=> The Society of Sins HQ (Former union base)

=> Again, If I'm missing anything, please edit this section to include it

Should I settle here?

This area is not recommended for most players. This area is closest to the Moonland Mall, which brings in lots of players, who bring lots of claims! This means there could potentially be little space for claims and development. However, it is also far away from central areas such as spawn, perhaps making transportation there much harder.

South West

Geography

The South Western outer area, as viewed from the Dynmap

This area has a large snowy biome, also containing many small deserts, oak forests and the second half of the bigger badlands area.

How popular is the area?

This area is not very popular. Perhaps this is due to the fact that most of it is covered in ocean, or that it is a distance away from the busiest parts of the server.

Places of interest

  • Quartz Hub: A megahub based in both the Overworld and the Nether. The Overworld section features a public gold farm, public sugar cane farm, and a cacti farm and a villager breeder. Squids frequent the area, and rare items such as tridents can be purchased from the shopkeeper near the portal. there is a public piglin barter station in the nether, along with shopkeepers selling gear and most enchantments.

Should I settle here?

This area is recommended for players - The area isn't as widely used compared to other parts of the map - With the unique biomes, it would be a great place to build a base. However, transportation to more central areas could become a problem, since this area is far from the main spawn point.

South East

Geography

The South-Eastern outer section, as viewed from the Dynmap

This area offers a wide range of biomes - A small mesa and savannah areas. Plus a large snowy biome, with lots of oak forests, mountains and ocean.

How popular is the area?

This area is not as popular. Again, this could be due to the fact that many players choose to live closer to busy places on the server.

Places of interest

=> Once again, there weren't any popular places of interest in this section of the map to my view. If you think this is a mistake, edit this section of this page.

Should I settle here?

This area is recommended for players - The area is a nice calm place, where the least of the farlands has been inhabited by. There is a large selection of biomes here. Yet, it is far away from the main shopping areas of the map meaning it could lack easy routes to the centre.

The Farlands

Geography

The farlands as seen from the dynamap.

The farlands as seen from the dynamap.

The farlands' geography is perhaps one of the most extreme, acting as a large barrier between the mainland and the "betalands". It has a unique ant-farm-like appearance, and a fair range of biomes, although mesa biomes are very rare.

How popular is this area?

We can expect popularity to rise within the next few months, as it has fairly recently opened, but a few players have made their claims here.

Places of interest

=> Scaliedog's Boat Tunnel (The first of the Betalands Safe-Access Ways)

Should I settle here?

If you're up for the tough conditions, then yes! With it being the most unique of places to go, the farlands could include many cool base ideas! However, it is tightly packed, and there might be more claims in the way of your build in future.

The Betalands

Geography

The betalands region as a whole as seen from the dynamap.

The betalands region as a whole as seen from the dynamap.

The betalands has many different biomes to choose from! From snowy areas to nice plains, with even some unique extreme terrain, the betalands is the new cool place to live!

How popular is this area?

Due to the recent expansion, the betalands isn't well inhabited. Yet, with its nice terrain, we expect the area to be extremely popular soon.

Places of interest

Rimeslag Citadel - a public fortress in the north-eastern betalands with shops, farms, a farlands border iceway (WIP) and more.

Should I settle here?

Yes! It may be hard to get in and out of the area, but it has so much to offer, making this a great starter base area! Its unique terrain boasts inventive ways of building, making this a great place to build. Note that the betalands are considered a hard survival area- many game mechanics are different out here and are meant to present a real challenge to even seasoned players. ScalieDog wrote a guide to living in the betalands.

The Outer Rim

Geography

The Outer Rim, as seen from the online map

The Outer Rim (AKA 1.18 land) has the most unique of terrain featuring land that has never been seen in PVC before. It contains some of the 1.18 biomes and caves too, making it a great place to mine.

How Popular is this Area?

Relatively popular. Most still choose to settle inland, however many settlements are also found in the area.

Places of Interest

None at the minute. Check back soon! (or add one in if you think its missing).

Should I settle here?

Yes! Thanks to the betaways, it's now quite easy to travel into the 1.18 land. It features great scenic terrain for the best of bases, and has plenty of opportunity for diamonds to be found!. If you prefer untouched farlands, there is a second set of those at the Outer Rim Border too! Despite transport complications, it still makes for a beautiful spot to reside in.

Choosing a good location

The PVC map has a lot of places to build. When building a base, consider the following:

=> Will I develop my base? You may want to expand it to a bigger area. Be sure to check that there are no claims in the way of any future projects.

=> Can I get to the places I want to go? You will probably want to go into the centre of the map and explore the popular spawn and cobbletown areas. Make sure you will be able to do this

=> Is it compliant with the PVC rules? Check this at https://peacefulvanilla.club/rules

=> Will it obstruct another build? If so, then we suggest finding another spot to build on.

=> Is it the right location for me? Obviously, you must like the biome to enjoy your base to the fullest.

Viewing the map

Perhaps the best way to decide on a location for your build, is by viewing the map for yourself. This is possible in two ways:

=> Dynmap (https://peacefulvanilla.club/maps) A 2D map of the world of PVC - Also known as DynamicMap

=> EarthMap (https://peacefulvanilla.club/earth) A 3D map of the world of PVC - Also known as the BlueMap

Small Note: Some of the images featured within this page do need updating. This is because the Dynmap at the time was unfortunately un-rendered, meaning I couldn't take images direct from it. I will update this when possible
