The World Tree is located at (x:-560 z:4430) and was built by Nyxaea and Frogspawner in August 2020 on their island on the border of the farlands. The tree is surrounded by a small mushroom forest with various tiny homes nearby.
The inspiration for the World Tree came from Norse Mythology where their afterlife is based on a tree of the same name where 'hell' is right at the bottom in the fiery depths, followed by an icy cold hell above, and then 'heaven' is at the top of the tree. This served as inspiration for how the tree is laid out and how we fit so many different sections into it.
The construction required mass deforestation beforehand (thanks to the server's custom tree plugin all saplings were replanted) to require all the oak wood needed and we rented a beacon to make the process of excavating all the way down to bedrock slightly less painful. The build is the biggest one we have done to date however only requires one coal claimblock as it was strategically placed in the middle vertically.
The tree is also home to our storage room and nether portal.
If you would like to visit the tree take the endstone ice-path off the blue nether hub and there are signs to guide you. Our island has many other fun places to visit aswell such as a parkour course and an upcoming archery game that is nearly finished, hope to see some of you there :)
